For Anthony England, it was a small sip, but for the Coca-Cola Company, it was a major publicity coup when the astronaut drank a can of Coke while orbiting the Earth aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger in August 1985. The first soft drink enjoyed in space was therefore a Coca-Cola.
